Our Story
The Triad Community Band, founded in 2018, is a non-profit organization focused on providing musicians in Forsyth County and the surrounding communities an ongoing recreational opportunity to maintain and advance their musical skills while providing high quality musical entertainment. In 2023, our community outreach expanded to include our advocacy for Crisis Control Ministry.
The band provides concerts free of charge, but encourages food and monetary donations to support the Crisis Control Ministry. This worth-while endeavor ensures we are truly giving back to the communities we live and play in.
Our band consists of musicians playing at an intermediate to professional level of proficiency on their instrument, and consists of two formats including a traditional concert band group playing various styles of concert band programs such as classical, march, patriotic, and other exciting and fun selections for enjoyment of all ages. We also feature a smaller group of our members playing a variety of jazz, big band, and swing classics.
Our Mission
The Triad Community Band is proud to support Crisis Control Ministry as they celebrate more than 50 years of serving our neighbors in need. It provides help with basic life needs to those facing a crisis in Forsyth and Stokes Counties.
At Crisis Control Ministry, we believe that anyone can experience a financial crisis. When it happens, we offer emergency assistance to solve the crisis, all the while treating families with the respect and compassion they deserve.
As one of the largest emergency assistance provider in Forsyth County, NC, Crisis Control Ministry served 29,070 people in FY 2023 between our Winston-Salem and Kernersville locations. We provide short-term emergency services for residents of Forsyth and Stokes Counties including rent/mortgage payments, utility bill assistance; food from our Client Choice Food Pantry; and medications from our Licensed Free Pharmacy.

Barry "Bart" Duane Collins
November 8, 1946 – August 29, 2024
Bart’s life-long passion for music began in junior high school and lasted over 50 years in several community groups. To know Bart was to love him. He was larger than life and made new friends everywhere he went. Friends and family would describe Bart as “quite a character”. Rest well Bart! Click below for obituary.
Donald Fred Earnhardt
APRIL 14, 1949 – FEBRUARY 26, 2024
Celebrating a kind soul gone too soon. Don was a founding member of our Triad Community Band organization in 2018, and played with the legacy Bethabara Park Concert and Big Bands for many years prior. He was a friend to all who welcomed so many new members to our group. He will be missed by members old and new.
